Leaping into Lit / Roald Dahl Day is dedicated to the brilliant work of one of the most loved and read children’s authors and storytellers. Sixth-graders learnt about Dahl’s life, his school years and how he became a writer. They brought to school Roald Dahl’s books they had at home and chose their favourite characters which they used to create their own short comic stories. Imagine Matilda entering the world of Mr Willy Wonka and trying to convince Charlie Bucket that reading books is more fun than eating chocolate!
