Boxes of books and unlimited love were transported today by the DES Library Ministers to the children’s rights network library building. The people in charge welcomed us, showed us around the area and told us about the structure and operation of the library. We were intrigued by her books in Arabic, Farsi and other languages are spoken by the population groups that visit the library! As the people in charge explained, free employment programs exist for the children who visit the site. We talked about the importance of access to knowledge and books and the network’s new venture, the mobile library. DES participated for the seventh consecutive year in International Book Giving Day! The value of the offer is always priceless! Our joy and emotion are the same yearly, making our values stable!

Walt Disney said, “There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island”. February 14th is International Book Giving Day, which aims to provide books to as many kids as possible. Reading is fundamental, as it develops your brain, increases your vocabulary, enhances concentration, creativity, and imagination, develops basic language skills, and expands your world while providing entertainment. IDGD aims to give access to books and share the enthusiasm for reading. You can join the observance by donating books to an NGO, a local library or an association, as two-thirds of children do not have the chance to own a book.
