Over the past school year, Des School and Action Hellas collaborated in creating a pioneering educational activity, aiming to form connections between DES students and the student community of Anafi.

The writer and teacher, Mania Armeliniou, and visual artist Annie Riga, members of the DES educational group, created two student writing groups, one with Anafi students and one with Des students. Throughout the year, the children wrote and illustrated two separate fairytales while meeting each other regularly through online platforms.

The students of the remote Anafi worked consistently and enthusiastically, creating not just a fairy tale but a means of promoting their place. The income from selling their book will aid in covering various needs of their school facilities.

DES students were enthused to be in contact with the students of Anafi,  to learn about their school experience and exchange views and ideas. This activity has now opened a path of friendship between the students that surpasses physical distance!

DES will continue supporting student communities in remote areas by participating in similar actions because learning for us has no boundaries and distance limitations. We look forward to reconnecting with future projects!
